Yvonne Eloise (Matthews) Nicholas, 73, of Oakland died on Friday, August 31, 2012 at her home. Born on October 2, 1938 in Blaine, WV, a daughter of the late Dewey L. and Melinda D. (Rhodes) Matthews. She is survived by her children, Patricia Zillifro and husband Lynn, Weldon Nicholas, Jr. and wife Jenny, Billy Nicholas and significant other Ann Newport, Robin Nicholas and significant other Bob Hoffman, James Nicholas, and Janet Nicholas and fiance Wayne Golliday; grandchildren, Sammi Beery and husband Tony, Brandi Shahan, Jeremy Shahan, Billy Nicholas, Logan Beeman, Rachael Beeman, Dustin Hoffman, and Dean Hoffman; great grandchildren, Preston Beery, Lucas Hoffman, and Alyssa Loughrie; brother, Leland Matthews; and sisters, Deanna Arnold and Marion Teets. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her spouse, Weldon K. Nicholas, Sr. and siblings, Lanny Matthews, Leroy Matthews, William Matthews, Loyal Matthews, Eleanor Matthews, Arvil Greaser, Joanne Paugh, and Gerald Matthews. A memorial service for Yvonne will be held on a later date. Donations may be made to Hospice of Garrett County, PO Box 271, Oakland, MD 21550. The family entrusted Yvonne's care to the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Oakland.
