Winona (Childs) Lewis, 82, of Winter Haven, FL, formerly of Oakland, Maryland, died on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at her daughter's home in Winter Haven. She was born on December 16, 1930 in Oakland, the daughter of the late James Childs and Sylvia (Childs) Lewis. Winona had a long career with the Garrett County school board where she rose to the position of Purchasing Agent for the school system's cafeteria program. In addition she was a long-time accountant, specializing in small business accounting and tax preparation. She regularly attended Beymer Memorial United Methodist Church in Winter Haven and was a member of the Deep Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She is survived by four children: Stanley Weese of Brooklyn Park, MN; Diane Buerger of Winter Haven; Philip Weese of Winter Haven; and Bethany Lewis of Fontana, CA; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and two brothers, Roy Childs of The Villages, FL and Forest Childs of Rupert, WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Harsh, and a brother, Arthur Childs. Friends will be received on Friday, June 14, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM at the BURDOCK-FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 21 N. 2nd St, Oakland, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 15th at 10 AM with her son, Pastor Stanley E. Weese, officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
