Winifred Harvey

Winifred Joy Harvey, age 86, of Pleasant Valley, beloved Mom, Gram and Sass was called to her eternal resting place on Saturday, October 17, 2020. She entered this world on June 2, 1934 in Oakland, MD, born to Herbert and Bessie (Bowman) Harvey.

Winifred was a graduate of Oakland High School and continued her education in nursing in Cumberland, MD. She was employed as a registered nurse at Garrett Memorial Hospital from 1953-1965. Winifred was forever a nurse in her heart as she was a caregiver for her extended family. She enjoyed being a homemaker and rearing her children on the family farm where together they made many memories gardening and caring for the animals. She loved her family very much and treasured the special times spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Winifred was Christian by faith and attended Faith Evangelical Free Church in Mountain Lake Park.

Winifred is survived by her three children, Scott D. Harvey and wife Sandra of Oakland, Brian D. Harvey of Virginia Beach, VA, Linda K. Harvey of Mc Lean, VA; grandchildren, Andrew Harvey and wife Nikki, Sharon (Harvey) Snyder and husband Fred, Nichole (Harvey) Harsh and husband Aaron, Charles Harvey; great grandchildren, Jacob, Hayden and Brantley Harvey, Kourtni and Kendra Snyder, Ashton and Hunter Harsh, and Anderson Harvey.

In addition to her parents, Winifred was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Dale C. Harvey who passed away in 2004.

Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, from 11-12 PM. A funeral service will immediately follow with Pastor Carl Fike officiating. Interment will be held in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.  Face coverings are required and social distancing must be maintained. If you or a member of your family feels ill, please stay home and visit with the family at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Southern Garrett County Rescue Squad. Winifred's family would like to thank the staff at Dennett Road Manor for the wonderful care shown to her.
