Wilma Mae Henline Teets, age 85, of the Horse Shoe Run community died Saturday night, August 15, 2015 at Mon General Hospital after surgery for a broken hip she received from a fall at home. She was born in Davis, WV on April 25, 1930, to the late Lawrence Elmer Henline and Sarah Jane Roth Henline. She was raised on a farm in the Texas settlement area of Horse Shoe Run. She graduated from Aurora High School in 1947. She started teaching school in the fall of 1947 at Accident and Sell one room schools. She worked 2 years as secretary at the Aurora School. She retired from the Preston County Board of Education as a teachers’ aide for 22 years at Aurora and Rowlesburg. She is survived by her husband David Lindsey Teets whom she married on June 27, 1948, the first couple married at Bethel Methodist Church by father of the groom, William Lindsey Teets. They enjoyed 67 years of marriage. Also surviving are 1 son, Paul (Karen) Teets of Horse Shoe Run, twin daughters, Rita Sue (David) Harsh of Amboy, Mary Lou (Mike) Miller of Franklin, NY and daughter Elma Jane (Joe) Slaubaugh of Silver Lake, 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 1 sister, Eileen Rembold, niece Sandra Mincer and 4 great nephews. Wilma Mae loved music and was a talented piano and organ player. She played for Bethel United Methodist Church and Maple Spring Brethren Church Choir, Tucker Community Choir and 101 weddings & numerous funerals and many other occasions. She was a member of the Bethel (Texas) United Methodist Church of Horse Shoe Run, Farm Women’s Club & Preston County Assoc. of Retired School Personnel. She loved to quilt & do crafts, jigsaw puzzles & puzzle books.

Friends will be received on Tuesday August 18 from 2-8 pm at the Aurora Memorial Building. Funeral services will be held, 3:00 PM, Wednesday August 19 at the Bethel (Texas) United Methodist Church with Rev. Cheryl George and Rev. Gary Meeks officiating. Interment will follow in the Texas Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. www.hinklefuneralhome.com
