Willis Lacy Turner, 87, of Bayard, WV died Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Garrett Memorial Hospital in Oakland, MD. Willis was born July 22, 1924 in Brushy Run, WV the son of the late Dick and Dora (Thompson) Turner. He was a retired boiler maker out of the Union Hall in Winfield, WV. He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Turner of Bayard and Billie Brown of Petersburg; a son; Steve Tuner and wife Charlotte of Middleborne; a sister, Jean Dove of Petersburg; a brother, Bill Turner of Brushy Run; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Jean (Starkey) Turner in 2010. Friends will be received on Sunday, January 22 from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the DAVID A. BURDOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 21 N. 2nd St. Oakland. The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Monday, January 23 at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. William McCallister and Rev. Harold McMillian officiating. Interment will follow in Bayard Cemetery.
