William Ray "Bill" Tasker, 71 of Oakland and formerly of Kitzmiller, MD, died Tuesday February 15, 2011 at the Garrett Co. Memorial Hospital. Born in Vindex January 25, 1940, he was the son of the late Orval and Idabelle (Bernard) Tasker.
Bill was a retired coal miner an Army veteran stationed in Germany during the Berlin crisis. Bill was a member of the Deer Park VFW.
Surviving are two sons, Bill and Mike Tasker of Mt. Lake Park, 3 daughters, Carol Palmer and Betty Scott both of Kitzmiller, and Connie Williamson of Oakland. One brother Raymond "Buck" Tasker of Kitzmiller, 3 sisters, Linda Pysell, Swanton, Rosemary Tasker and Betty Smith both of Kitzmiller. Also surviving are 5 Grandchildren; Kenny, Samantha, Rachel, Brittany and Lydia.
Friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home 21 N 2nd St., Oakland MD on Friday, February 18, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday Feb. 19, 2011 at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be in the Deer Park Cemetery where Military honors will be accorded by combined Veterans organizations.
