William Mott

William "Bill" John Mott, 77, of Oakland died on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Garrett Memorial Hospital. Born May 18, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Harry W. and Helen Katherine (Gonne) Mott. Prior to his retirement, Bill was a communications technician for the former ITT World Communications. He was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Oakland and the American Legion Proctor Kildow Post 10077 also in Oakland. He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Patricia (Wilson) Mott; two daughters, Carol Ory and husband David of Mt. Airy, and Linda Lotier and husband Raymond of Germantown; one son, William John Mott, Jr. and wife Susan of Clearspring; seven grandchildren, Danny, Rebecca, Ashlyn, Elizabeth, Matthew, Michael, and Joey; and one brother, Robert Mott and wife Marti of Gig Harbor, WA. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and on Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 AM. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 208 S. 4th St., Oakland on Saturday at 10 AM with Rev. Donald Parson as celebrant. Interment will follow in Garrett County Memorial Gardens with full military honors accorded by the Deer Park VFW Post 71 and American Legion Proctor Kildow Post 10077 of Oakland. Memorials may be made to St. Peter the Apostle Church.
