William Moats

William Roy Moats, 84, of Aurora, WV died February 29, 2016 at Cortland Acres Nursing Home. He was born October 16, 1931 in Aurora, WV a son of the late Cyrus and Edna Simmons Moats. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Moats, 3 brothers Darvin, Lawrence and Doyle and 1 sister Millie Moats. Survivors include 4 sons Richard (Amy) Moats, Roger (Michelle) Moats, David Moats all of Aurora, WV, John Moats, Terra Alta, WV, 2 daughters Wanda (Barry) Slaubaugh, Eglon, WV, Sylvia Redman, Aurora, WV, 6 brothers Parker Moats, Vernon Moats, Milford Moats, Harry Moats, Freddy Moats all of Aurora, WV Keith Moats, Terra Alta, WV and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Moats was a truck driver for Sisler Lumber. He enjoyed mosaic wood working, hunting, and fishing. Friends will be received Thursday, March 3, from 4-8 PM at Hinkle Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held, 1:00 PM, Friday March 4, at Hinkle Funeral Chapel with Rev. Neil Parsons officiating. Interment will follow in Aurora Cemetery.
