William Livengood

William Ray "Lip" Livengood, 72, of Mountain Lake Park died on Friday, June 27, 2014 at his home. Born on July 13, 1941 in Swanton, MD, he was the son of the late Miles J. and Ruth V. (Jenkins) Livengood. Bill was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, a lifetime member of the Oakland Elk's Lodge #2481, Deer Park Sportsmen Club, a lifetime member of the Handy Man Club, and a member of the North American Fishing Club. "Lip" retired from Westvaco in 2000 after 40 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding ATVs, and wood working. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Chris (Moran) Livengood; two daughters, Lisa L. Freeland and husband Gary of Terra Alta, WV, and Tonya M. Beckman and husband Brian of Grantsville, MD; four grandchildren, Aimee Bowman of Aurora, WV, Jordyn Livengood of Oakland, and Zoie and Rayanna Beckman of Grantsville; two great-grandchildren, Emilee and Tucker Bowman of Aurora; four brothers, John and wife Carolyn, Walter and wife Faye, David and wife Joyce, all of Swanton, and Ralph and wife Lois of Oakland; one sister, Wilma Pratt of Spencer, IN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Barry Livengood; a sister, Arlene Tichnell; two brother-in-laws, Bob Pratt and Walker Tichnell; and a grandson-in-law, Michael Bowman. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. 2nd Street, Oakland on Sunday, June 29, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and on Monday, June 30, 2014 from 11 AM to 1 PM at which time a funeral service will be held with the Rev. Donald Matthews officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of "Lip" may be made to Hospice of Garrett County, PO Box 271, Oakland, MD 21550, Trinity Church of Christ, Mon General Radiation Building fund, 1200 J.D. Anderson Dr., Morgantown, WV 26505, and the GCMH Foundation, 251 N 4th St., Oakland, MD 21550.
