William F. "Bunk" Legeer, 71, of Oakland, formerly of Baltimore, died on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at his home, surrounded by his family. Born on January 26, 1941 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late William F. and Mildred E. (Crane) Legeer. He was a retired truck driver. Bill was a member of the Deer Park Sportsman Club. He is survived by two daughters, Donna L. Legeer of Oakland and Tammy Thrift and husband Barry of Mt. Lake Park; two sons, William L. Legeer and Frederick I. Legeer both of Oakland; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; a brother, John Legeer and wife Elsa of Deer Park; three sisters, Lois "Laney" McHale of York, PA, Judith Wilt and husband Lloyd of Mt. Lake Park, and Christina Tasker and husband George of Pokomoke City; an uncle, Lue Legeer and wife Helen of LaVale; and several other aunts and uncles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia M. (Baker) Legeer, in 2003; two sisters, Vauda Legeer and Evajean Smith; and a brother-in law, George McHale. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Monday, July 16th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, July 17th at 10 AM with Rev. John R. Legeer officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD at 1 PM on Wednesday July 18th. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
