William Harry "Bill" Durst, 80, of Harper's Ferry, WV, died on Monday, October 16, 2017, at his home. Born on November 21, 1936, in Swanton, he was the son of the late Lester F. and Nadiene (Green) Durst. He was a graduate of Fort Hill High School. Bill was a veteran of the United States Air Force and, upon leaving the military, worked for the US Justice Department. After retirement, Bill was an avid golfer and also enjoyed traveling. He is survived by siblings, Carolyn Green and husband William E., Craig Durst, and Ivan Terry Durst and wife Suzanne; a stepdaughter, Deborah Adler; two grandchildren, James Adler and Jean Stean; numerous nieces and nephews; and a dear friend and companion, Betty Curtis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin Durst and Charles Donnely Durst; and a sister, Delores Evans. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Saturday, October 21st from 11 AM to 12 PM after which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor John Skipper officiating. Interment will follow in the Broadwater Cemetery, Swanton. Military honors will be accorded by the US Air Force and the combined honor guard of American Legion Post #71 and the Deer Park VFW Post #10077.
