Wilda Fern (Gnegy) Davy, 81 of Mtn. Lake Park, MD died Monday, January 25, 2010 at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown, WV.
Born March 25, 1928 in Garrett County, MD, she was the daughter of the late Dewey Elwood and Sadie Alice (Salbaugh) Gnegy. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Harold, Darrell, Dale; and by sisters Lorene Gnegy Dodge and Ruth Gnegy Arnold
Mrs. Davy had worked at Southern High School Cafeteria and also for Bausch & Lomb. She was a member of the Oak Park Church of the Brethren, where she served as a Deaconess, was a member of the Wednesday Quilter's group, and the Women's Fellowship group. She also bowled with a woman's bowling league for many years.
Surviving are two sons, Michael W. Davy of Gaithersburg, John E. Davy of New Port News, VA; four daughters, Joan D. Williamson and Judy A. Lindgren, both of Richmond, Kathleen W. Todd of Blackshear, GA Barbara L. Niner of Oakland; two brothers Lorraine Gnegy of Oakland, Merlin Gnegy of Somerset, PA and Brandenton, FL; one sister Ruby Gnegy Harvey of Dillon, Montana; 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
The family will receive friends at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. Second St., Oakland, MD on Thursday, January 28, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
Funeral service are 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2010 at the Oak Park Church of the Brethren with Rev. Donald Matthews & Rev. Carl Fike officiating. Interment will follow in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of memorial donations to the South Garrett County Rescue Squad or the American Heart Association.
