Wayne Carlton Wotring, 79, of Aurora, WV passed away peacefully at home on April 1, 2017, with his family by his side. He was born September 3, 1937 in Brookside, WV a son of the late Calvin Sheridan and Hester Lee Sell Wotring. Also preceding him in death were 5 brothers; Calvin Jr. (Bubbles) Wotring, Harold (Bud) Wotring, Cecil Wotring, Richard Wotring and Robert (Bob) Wotring, 2 sisters; Jessie Gnegy, Nell (Nellie) Bradford and niece; Sharon McGinnis. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ruth Fint Wotring, two sons; Dennis (Heidi) Wotring, Grove City, OH and Scott Wotring, Aurora, WV, one daughter; Cheryl (Todd) Weimer, Fort Ashby, WV, and one granddaughter, Brandi Feather of Aurora, WV and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Wayne worked at Aurora Stone, Sterling Processing until its closure and then for Wood Products in Oakland, MD. He spent his free time providing mechanic work for family and friends, assisting with farm work, woodworking, and gardening (raising tomatoes). Wayne loved hunting and going on weekend fishing excursions with his family. His granddaughter, Brandi provided much joy in his life.
Friends were received Monday, April 3, from 2-8 PM at Aurora Memorial Building. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 4, at Maple Grove Assembly of God Church with Rev. Cheryl George officiating. Interment followed in Aurora Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. www.hinklefuneralhome.com
