Wayne Robert "Coonhunter" Aronhalt, 77, of Mount Storm, passed away on October 22, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at Grant Memorial Hospital, after battling cancer for over nine years. Born on August 17, 1947, in Keyser, he was the son of the late Robert and Delores Aronhalt.

Wayne retired after over 40 years of driving Coal Trucks for G&S and D&L Coal Company, where he made friendships that lasted a lifetime.

Wayne was survived by his wife of 56 years, Sharon (Townsend) Aronhalt; three daughters, Tina Crabtree and husband Randy of Oakland, Anita Kitzmiller and husband Jim of Accident, and Dana Cosner and husband O'Dale of Old Fields; four grandchildren, Whitney, Ashley, Morgan, and Ben; two great grandchildren, Lyle and Miles; two brothers, Earnest Aronhalt and wife Wanda and Wendell Aronhalt and wife Susan; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his sister, Juanita Kitzmiller and husband James.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Friends will be received on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Mount Storm Presbyterian Church. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM in the church with Pastor Jim Collette officiating. Interment will follow in the Bayard Cemetery.
