Ward Moats

Ward Delmer Moats II, 70, of Thomas, WV died on July 6, 2016 at Cortland Acres. He was born December 14, 1945 in Aurora, WV a son of the late Ward Delmer and Dove Lavina Simmons Moats. He is survived by 2 sons, Ward Delmer Moats III and Robin Lee Moats, 1 daughter, Dove L. Moats, 2 brothers, James (Charis) Moats, Wellsburg, WV and Robert (Ruby) Moats, Aurora, WV, 2 sisters, Ruby Moats Kempfer, Aurora, WV and Helen Cohen, Tucson, AZ, and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Bill, Samuel, Richard, Earl, and Marshall, 5 sisters, Cindy, Rachael, Genevina, Edith, and Charlene. Mr. Moats worked throughout his life in the surveying business. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially spending time with his family. He was well known for creating quotes for pictures. Friends will be received, Sunday, July 10, at the Aurora Memorial Building, from 12 noon – 2:00 PM, the funeral hour with Rev. Debbie Strawser officiating.
