Walter Clayton Bittinger, 88, Mt. Lake Park, passed away at his home on May 19th, 2022. He was born on August 8th, 1933, to the late Walter E. Bittinger and Bernadette (Seibold) Bittinger.
Mr. Bittinger was retired from General Motors Corp. in Baltimore after 30 years of service. He served in the United States Army with an honorable discharge. He enjoyed his home in Mt. Lake Park and liked working outdoors. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Mona K. (Simpson) Bittinger, Bel Air; two sons, David L. Bittinger, Bel Air, Michael E. Bittinger, Street; two sisters, Patricia Carter, Oakland, Bernadette Reckart, Romney, WV; five grandchildren, Nicole L. Bittinger, Essex, Jamie R. Watson, Clearwater, FL, Bradley M. Bittinger, Harwood, Krystle Bittinger-LeClaire and Samantha Bittinger, both of Lennox, SD; 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers; Donald E. Bittinger and Carlton W. Bittinger.
A chapel service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, June 10th, 2022, at Garrett County Memorial Gardens, 881 Memorial Drive, Oakland. The C & S Fredlock Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Bittinger family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the Southern Garrett Rescue Squad or the Deer Park Community Volunteer Fire Department.
