Virginia Bowman Rice 89 of Oakland, MD, passed away Monday April 4, 2011 at Garrett Memorial Hospital.
Born August 7, 1921 in Kensington, MD, she was the daughter of the late William H. & Ruby C. (Johnson) Bowman. Also, preceded in death by husband-Harold "Bud" Rice, Jr.; daughter-Jacqueline Swift, brothers-Bill Bowman, Puzzy Bowman and sisters-Louise Buscher and Mary Goff.
Virginia was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving are: daughter-Joyce Jones, Oakland; son-in-law-Bruce Swift, Sr., Oakland, MD; grandchildren-Bruce Swift, Jr., and wife, Carmela, Oakland, MD and Bobbi Duckers, and husband, Steve, Toms River, NJ and grandchildren-Lindsey & Jake Duckers, Kaitlyn, Davey & Samantha Swift.
Family and friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. 2nd St, Oakland, MD; Friday, April 8, 2011 from 1-2 p.m with funeral services immediately following in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
