Viola Snyder

Viola Frances Snyder, 91, passed away April 24, 2016 at Cortland Acres. She was born October 28, 1924 in Eglon, WV a daughter of the late Elmer Clay and Oma Mae Arnold Harsh. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence R. Snyder on May 17, 1995; they were married on April 8, 1939. Also preceding her in death, 1 son, Darwin L. Snyder, 2 grandsons, Christopher and Travis Snyder, 1 son-in-law, Robert Vanmeter, 1 brother, Herbert Harsh, and 1 sister, Leona Wotring.

She is survived by 2 sons, Roger E. (Sue Ann) Snyder, Spotsylvania, VA, and Milton M. Snyder, Fredrick, MD, 1 daughter, Esther Snyder and companion Paul Florence, Parsons, WV, 1 daughter-in-law, Judy Snyder, 1 special niece, Janet Ball, 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Snyder worked as a homemaker for the majority of her life but for several years worked at Hopemont and took special pride in caring for patients at the end of their journey in life. She was Pentecostal by faith. She was a loving wife and mother to all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, and quilting.

Friends will be received Friday, April 29, from 4-8 PM at Hinkle Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held, 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 30, at Hinkle Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Accident Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
