Viola McWilliams

Viola Mae (Shillingburg) McWilliams, 102, of Aurora, WV passed away on Friday, January 15, 2016 at the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home. Born on April 23, 1913 in Brookside, WV, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Ida (Mosser) Shillingburg. She was a talented seamstress and quilter who enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by two daughters, Lenora Flowers and husband Lawrence of Oakland and Linda McGinn of Supply, NC; a son, Leroy McWilliams and wife Margaret of Eglon; one niece, Louise Martin of Aurora; and she was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil McWilliams; son, Leonard McWilliams; grandson, Rodrick McWilliams; brothers, John, Homer and Denzil Shillingburg; son-in-law, Don McGinn; and a nephew, Bernard Shillingburg Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Tuesday, January 19th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 12 PM on Wednesday, January 20th with Pastor Regina Beard officiating. Interment will be in the Eglon Cemetery, Eglon, WV. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home for the wonderful care given to Viola for the past 7 years.
