Viola Knotts

Viola Beatrice (Butts) Knotts, 94, of Gormania, WV passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home. Born on February 17, 1919 in Gorman, MD, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Leroy and Daisy Kathryn (Vann) Butts. She was a member of the Gormania Methodist Church, Past President of the WSCS Ladies Auxiliary and Past President of the Gorman Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was retired from Bausch & Lomb in Oakland. She is survived by her daughter, Sara Jane Kuhn and husband Tom of Oakland; a daughter in law, Kathern Knotts of Oakland; one sister, Frances Cosner and husband Dale of Bayard, WV; three grandsons, Daniel F. Knotts and wife Carmelita of Moyock, NC, Douglas F. Knotts and wife Marianna of McHenry and Dennis E. Knotts of Oakland; two granddaughters, Janell Knotts of Virginia Beach, VA and Michelle Knotts of Frostburg; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel A. Knotts; a son, Daniel E. Knotts; two sisters, Ada Boigegrain and Ruby Wildesen; and brothers, David, James, Theodore, Alden, Howard, John and Raymond Butts. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Friday, October 25th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, October 26th at 11 AM. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
