Vilda B. Lewis, 90, of Oakland died on Friday, June 13, 2014 at her home. Born on July 13, 1923 in Reeds Creek, WV, she was the daughter of the late Solomon L. and Rosa M. (Grogg) Lantz. She had worked hard for many years on the family dairy farm. She is survived by two grandsons, Eric T. White and wife Lisa and Ryan A. White and wife Kristen; two great grandsons, Jackson R. White and Parker M. White; a son in law, Oakley C. White; and nieces and nephews, Rita Dasher, Frances E. Patrice and Thomas Stevens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Roy L. Lewis, in August of 2012; a daughter, Judy A. White; and siblings, Ned Lantz, Elenor Irene Stevens and Leslie Roscoe Lantz. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Monday, June 16th from 5 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, June 17th at 10 AM with Rev. Donald Matthews officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Southern Garrett County Rescue Squad, PO Box 378, Oakland, MD 21550.
