Valerie Naylor

Valerie Lynn Naylor, 60, of Oakland, died on Monday, August 26, 2019, at Mon General Hospital, Morgantown. Born on August 6, 1959 in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Margaret (Smet) Sines and her foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rosilynn Spurrier. Valerie was a graduate of Southern High School and obtained her Master’s Degree from Frostburg State University. She worked as a counseling psychologist and was a member of praise teams at Oak Park Church of the Brethren, Divine Hope Church, and Fresh Fire Church of God. Valerie enjoyed jewelry, weaving, singing, guitar, and writing music. She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Milton Naylor; children, LaRena Naylor, Tabitha Naylor, and Thomas Naylor; grandchildren, Xander, Isabelle, Jordan, and Joe; and her siblings, Rebecca Wilson, Sharon Brown, Rhonda Kent, Victor Sines, Loren Sines, Roxanne Sines, and Jeffrey Sines. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland, on Friday, August 30, 2019 from 6 to 8PM and on Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 10 to 11AM at which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Tom McGinnis officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Garrett Regional Medical Center Loar Auxiliary, or the Garrett Regional Medical Center Foundation, 251 N 4th St., Oakland, MD 21550.
