Troy Lee Raines, 77, of Dryfork, West Virginia passed away January 27, 2019 at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins, West Virginia. He was born June 17, 1941 in Coshocton, Ohio a son of the late Denver Solomon and Della Myrtle Varner Raines.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Joanne. Also surviving is one son, Troy L. Raines Jr., three daughters, Lisa Raines, Tonya (Mike) Varney, and Lorie (Scott) Jones, one brother, Denver S. Raines Jr., two sisters, Grace Shreve and Judy (Don) Bartlett, eight grandchildren, Jared, Justin, and Michael Bever, Joshua Raines, Marissa Varney, Alexandria (Andrew) Willford, Lindsay and Rebekah Jones, and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four siblings, Rosetta Robbins, Luther Raines, Virginia Williams, and infant sister, Betty Raines, and one infant daughter, Susan Faye Raines.
Mr. Raines retired from the Crawford Nursery in Ohio to his farm in Dryfork. He had a passion for farming and took great pride in his farm in Dryfork. He was a former member of the Perry Christian Church in Perry, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canaan Valley Baptist Church, the Dryfork Women Ministry, or WV Caring (Hospice).
Friends will be received at the Dryfork Assembly of God Church on Thursday, January 31, from 10:00am - 12:00 pm, with funeral services being held at 12:00 pm with Pastor Brad Spencer officiating. Interment will follow in the Daniel Harper Cemetery. Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences can be made to the family at hinklefennerfuneralhome.com
