Tilden Hubert Wilt, 77, of Oakland died on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at the Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on November 5, 1936 in Swanton, he was the son of the late Henry Tilden and Sophia (Summerville) Wilt. He had worked on various carpentry jobs and had retired from the Garrett County Board of Education in 2004. In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoyed hunting and gardening. He is survived by a son, Tilden M. Wilt and wife Angie of Hazelton, WV; two step-daughters, Sandy Gray and husband Bobby and Annabelle Martin and husband David, all of Oakland; three step-sons, Charles Everd and wife Dianna, Nicholas Everd and wife Sharon, all of Oakland, and Joe Everd and wife Christie of Baltimore; eleven grandchildren; brothers, Jim Wilt and John Wilt; sisters, Wanda Hinebaugh, Audrey Bowser and Magdeline Hayes; and numerous great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Rodeheaver) Everd Wilt, in 2001; brothers, Clyde Wilt, Samuel Wilt, Edward Wilt and Andy Wilt; and a sister, Mary Bash. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Wednesday, August 27th from 5 to 8 PM and on Thursday, August 28th from 10 to 11 AM after which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Roger Kitzmiller officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Garrett County, PO Box 271, Oakland, MD 21550.
