Thomas Spiker

January 20, 1935 — July 24, 2015

Thomas F. Spiker, 80, of Kitzmiller died on Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home. Born on January 20, 1935 in Emoryville, WV, he was a son of the late Hobart William and Mary Ada (Dawson) Spiker. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served during the Korean War and had retired from Buffalo Coal Company after many years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Piedmont American Legion Post #52, a member of the Oakland Elks #2481 and the Marine Corps League of Garrett County Detachment 1234. In addition to spending time with his family, Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing and caring for his lawn. He is survived by his loving wife of over 57 years, Beverly Jean (Evans) Spiker; three children, Robin Jean Spiker of Oakland, Thomas Lance Spiker and wife Carol Ann of Swanton and Cristal Dawn Spiker and Mark of Kitzmiller; grandchildren, Anthony William Schrock and wife Courtney, Aimee Dawn Spiker and Brooke Ann Spiker; a step-granddaughter, Heather Nicole Wolf; a step great granddaughter, Ava Paugh; a sister, Helen Harvey and husband Junior of Keyser, WV; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, James, John, Donald and Dale Spiker. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church St., Kitzmiller on Thursday, July 30th from 6 to 7 PM after which time a memorial service, with military honors, will take place with Pastor Carl Fike officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Zelda Stein Weiss Cancer Center, c/o The Foundation of Mon General Hospital, 1200 JD Anderson Dr., Morgantown, WV 26505.
