Thomas J. Pratt, 96, a long-time resident of Kitzmiller, died on Monday, February 9, 2015 at the Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on March 19, 1918 in Jenners, PA, he was the son of the late James and Nellie (Lombard) Pratt. He was a graduate of Kitzmiller High School and veteran of the United States Army having served in Europe during World War II. Tom was a proud, 69 year, member of the American Legion Proctor Kildow Post #71 in Oakland, the VFW and Knights of Columbus. He loved to go fishing and watch baseball games. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Pratt of Idaho; two children, Frances Nickels and Joseph Pratt, both of Idaho; one grandson, Andy Nickels of Idaho; two great grandchildren; a sister, Helen Brown of Bunker Hill, WV; and nephews, Jimmy, George, David, Bobby and Mike Jewell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Pratt and Mrs. Millie Jewell. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church St., Kitzmiller on Friday, February 13th from 11 AM to 12:30 PM after which time a funeral service will be held. Interment, with military honors, will be in the Kalbaugh Cemetery, Elk Garden, WV.
