Thomas E. Lewis, 76, of Eglon, passed away on May 7, 2024, at Cortland Acres. Born on April 14, 1948, in Horse Shoe Run, he was the son of the late Cecil E. Lewis and Nina (Evans) Lewis Wallace.

Tom attended school in Aurora, went to Potomac State, and WV Business College, before being drafted into the U.S. Army. After being trained as a helicopter pilot, he was stationed in Korea. Upon his discharge, he joined the Army National Guard, 146th Medivac Unit, in Parkersburg, where he remained until his retirement in 2008, with the rank of CW4. His unit was deployed to participate in Operation Desert Storm. Tom also worked at Miners and Merchants Bank, Seneca Sand, Island Creek, and Savage Services. He loved working with people and served his community and church in many capacities. He loved to travel and spend as much time with his family as possible.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Winters; daughters, Julie Baker, and husband Gary of Virginia Beach, and Sara Lewis of Morgantown; father-in-law, Claude Winters; siblings, Charlene Woodall and spouse Lynn, Beverly Mahle, Fred Lewis and wife Kathy, all of GA, Gary Lewis, Tammy Lewis and husband Allen of Oakland; son-in-law, Chuck Young of Martinsburg; and grandchildren, Grayson Baker, Noah and Carter Young, and Madison Baker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Emily Young, and a brother, Stanley "Pete" Lewis.

Tom's wishes to be cremated will be honored and a celebration of life will be held in the near future at Maple Spring Covenant Brethren Church. Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Lewis family at this time.
