Thomas Fitzwater

Thomas A. "Tommy" Fitzwater, 46 of Oakland, MD died peacefully, Tuesday April 20, 2010 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland, MD.

Born August 22, 1963 in Oakland, he was the son of Patience (Sines) Fitzwater of Oakland and the late William Fitzwater, Jr.

Tommy was a school bus driver and contractor with the Garrett County Board of Education. He was a truck driver for Arnold Brothers and Perry's Solid Waste. He was a former Deer Park Volunteer Community Fireman.

Surviving in addition to his mother, are his only child, who was the sunshine in his life, Staci J. Fitzwater of Oakland; three sisters, Dora Hanlin and husband Art of Oakland, Donna Wolfe and husband Terry of Mission, TX, Norma Jean Nelson of Nokesville, VA; five brothers, Frederick "Chuck" Fitzwater, William Fitzwater and wife Shirley, Ralph Fitzwater and wife Joyce, Douglas Fitzwater and Michael Fitzwater, all of Oakland; nephews Justin, Matthew, Ryan, Jeremy, Joshua, Nathan Fitzwater, Jacob Hanlin, Joey and Davey Nelson; nieces Sarah Hanlin, LaDonna Wolfe, Tara Wilkins, Jennifer and Jessica Fitzwater and very special friend, Johnny Jones and wife Kim.

The family will receive friends at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. Second St., Oakland, MD on Friday, April 23, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2010 in the funeral home chapel with his nephew Rev. Davey Nelson officiating. Interment will follow in North Glade Cemetery.
