Theresa Murphy

Theresa Murphy, 57, of Oakland passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017, at her home with her loving family by her side. Born on August 10, 1959 in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Frances (Jamison) Root. She was a member of the Crellin United Methodist Church. Theresa loved old cars, spending time with her church family and, most especially, spending time with her three granddaughters. She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Ronald Murphy, Sr.; two sons, Ronnie Murphy and wife Pam and Mike Murphy and wife Marie, all of Oakland; three granddaughters, Alison, Mallory and Meredith; and three siblings, Pam Holland and husband Jeff, Melinda Friend, and Eugene Root, all of Oakland. According to her wishes, Theresa has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Crellin United Methodist Church, c/o 205 Seneca Ave, Oakland, MD 21550.
