Theodore Uphold, 76, of Oakland, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, June 20, 2019, in the comfort of his home. Born on October 14, 1942, in Friendsville, MD, he was the son of the late Gilbert Francis and Bessie Hindbaugh Uphold. Following graduation at Northern High School, Mr. Uphold was a construction worker for many years, having worked for T&W Construction, Inc. as well as T&W Trucking. He was a man of God and attended the Faith Evangelical Free Church. Theodore was a pastor at the Gorman Oak Grove Church as well as New Life Church, Sunnyside Chapel. His favorite activity was working, no matter the task at hand. He also enjoyed the outdoors and was very active despite many health issues. In his free time, Theodore enjoyed drinking coffee at the kitchen table while watching the many birds he took care of with his dog Toby. Surviving are his five loving children, Don Uphold of Bayard, Teddy Uphold of Mt. Storm, Patty Tasker and husband George of Oakland, Christine Tasker and husband Darrell of Deer Park, and Cindy Upole and husband John of Hutton; five grandchildren, Jessica Dewitt and husband Chad, Joey Tasker, Amy Sisler and husband Aaron, all of Oakland, Angel Sisler and husband Bo of Crellin, and JJ Upole and wife Heather of Hutton; six great-grandchildren, Alexis, Brayden, Kansas, Bentley, Erin, and DaKoda; his siblings, Emma Jean Harman and Roger Lee Uphold and wife Connie; and his best friend, Darlene Otto. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his bride of 50 years, Willa Pearl “Mom” Uphold, whom he will forever be in presence of; two sisters, Martha Stull and Georgene Wakefield; and a brother, Clayton Uphold. In accordance with his wishes, private interment will be held in the Sand Spring Cemetery, Friendsville.
