Sue Ann Snyder, 77, of Parkersburg, WV, went to be with the Lord on January 18, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on January 1, 1948, in Detriot, MI, she was the daughter of the late Mary Virginia (Evans) Whitehair.
After graduating from Aurora High School, Sue embraced various roles with love and dedication. She was primarily a homemaker, finding great joy in nurturing her family. Additionally, she served as a Spotsylvania County school bus driver and cafeteria worker; Custodian with Amtrack Auto Train, and Bingo Supervisor and Janitorial Manager at the Fraternal Order of Eagles (FOE #4123) where she was a member. Sue was also a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church, Beaverdam, VA.
Sue loved trips with her family to the beach and the mountains of Tennessee. She enjoyed camping, cooking, crafting, and working Bingo nights. She was a huge fan of Elvis and the Washington Redskins. She also played an integral role in her community as the "baseball team mom" for Courtland High School, supporting and cheering from the sidelines. Above all, Sue Ann cherished her time with family, making those moments the highlight of her life.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Roger Snyder; five children, Traci Ball and husband Mark of Beaverdam, VA, Jarrod Snyder and wife Tammy of Fredericksburg, VA, Lisa O'Connell and husband Scott of Locust Grove, VA, John Snyder and wife Rachelle of Montpelier, VA, and Scott Snyder and wife Michelle of Spotsylvania, VA; eleven grandchildren, Cassandra "Cassi" Fabling and husband Sean, Kristen Ball, Eugene Snyder, Alexis "Lexi" Snyder, Jacob O'Connell and wife Amber, Austin Snyder, Collin Snyder, Lindsey O'Connell, Carter O'Connell, Kaylee Snyder, and Aiden Snyder; five great grandchildren, Eliza Fabling, Asher Fabling, Nathaniel Fabling, Joshua Fabling, and Josie O'Connell; her brother, Carl Neil Whitehair and wife Amy; a special niece, Jeannie Holliday; a special great-niece, Amber Holliday; along with a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Carl Adrian Whitehair and her in-laws, Lawrence Richard Snyder and Viola Frances Snyder.
Friends will be received on Monday, January 27, 2025, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home, 567 Thomas Ave., Davis. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM in the funeral home. A private interment will follow in the Accident Cemetery.
