Shirley Pittman

Shirley Diana (Rumer) Pittman, 70, formerly of Mt. Lake Park, died on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Frostburg Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born on January 13, 1947 in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Dorsey and Emma (Nair) Rumer. Shirley was a graduate of Southern High School, Class of 1965. She was a homemaker who loved to take care of her family and her friends. After her youngest child started school, she worked in the local public school system as a cafeteria attendant and cook. Shirley was a member of Crellin Underwood United Brethren in Christ Church and American Legion Post #71 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling with her family and playing bingo. She was very generous to everyone and was a terrific mother and caregiver. Shirley is survived by three sons; Gerald Wayne Pittman and fiance Matthew Kirchberg of Winter Haven, FL, Donald Roger Pittman and wife Mary Lynn of Alpuras, FL and Clay Culhane Pittman and wife Christine of Lake Wales, FL; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six great grandchildren; six siblings, Warren Rumer of Baltimore, Dorsey Rumer of Crellin, Daniel Rumer of Crellin, Mary Simmons of Fairmont, Betty Johnson of California and Barbara Tusing of Oakland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert David Pittman. In accordance with Shirley's wishes, she will be cremated and a memorial service will be planned at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., Oakland.
