Shirley Brown

Shirley Ann Brown, 81, of Swanton went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 18, 2021, at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on June 28, 1940, in Vindex, she was the daughter of the late Salem Thomas and Mabel (Uphole) Brown.
Shirley was a member of the Loch Lynn Church of God, where she loved spending her time cooking for the congregation and special occasions. She was always glad to see everyone and loved to meet new people. Shirley will be remembered for her faithfulness and devotion to her family with whom she loved spending her time.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ervin "Bill" Brown; her sons, Ervin "Billy" Brown and girlfriend Robin Rice of Mt. Storm, WV and Brian Brown and wife Aleiha of Oakland; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a sister, Caroline Mellinger of Swanton; her beloved dog, Buffy, who was a huge part of Shirley's life; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Kate Stewart and Ella Tranum and four brothers, James "Joke", Tommy, Sincle and Ira "P Joe" Brown.
Friends will be received at the Loch Lynn Church of God, 8649 Gorman Rd, Oakland on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 10 AM to 1 PM. A funeral service will be held in the church at 1 PM with Pastors Ivan and Cindy Ackerman officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Swanton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made be made to the Loch Lynn Church of God, PO Box 2027, Oakland, MD 21550.
