Sherry Trail

Sherry Lynn Trail, 51, of Oakland was called home suddenly on April 24, 2019. She was born in Allegheny County on December 4,1967 to the late Betty Ann (Self) Powers and Paul Savage. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Maria A. Savage, Paula Savage Mellott; and a special brother, Carl Priest. Sherry is survived by her dad, Robert “Bob” Powers of Cumberland; friend and partner, Chrissa Lahman and mother, Bev Buckner; a sister, Merilyn (Ed) Savage-Remley of Oakland; daughters, Stephanie (Jason) Liller of Oldtown and Bethany Trail of Flintstone and their father, Larry Trail; a brother-in-law, Ricky Mellott; step-mother, Emma Savage; step-brother, Robbie Mongold; along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends, coworkers and her rescue cat, Gizmo, whom she loved dearly. Sherry graduated from Frankfort High School and Frostburg State University. She played several instruments, including drums and guitar. She loved music, camping, fishing, gardening, travel and spending time with her friends, family and animals. Sherry was a loving, caring person, always lending a helping hand anyway she could. She was employed at Biederlack of America, and more recently, at Walmart and Shop and Save in Garrett County. A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
