Sharon Turney

Sharon Grace Turney, 68, of Mtn. Lake Park went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 27, 2017, at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Born on November 23, 1948, in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Foster Joseph and Jeannette Eva (Hacker) Turney. She operated her own daycare program for 32 years and had also worked for the Mt. Lake Park Camp Meeting. She was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, where she had served as the membership secretary. In addition to spending time with her family and friends, Sharon enjoyed embroidery and painting. She is survived by a sister in law, Rose Turney; several cousins and good friends; and friends, Chester and Isolena Gaither, who had cared for Sharon in recent years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Judith Kay Turney and two brothers, David Michael Turney and Gary Turney. A funeral service will be held in the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Sunday, January 29th at 2 PM with Rev. Chester Gaither officiating. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
