Samantha Joan Gibson, 21, of Swanton went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 9, 2012. Born on July 4, 1991 in Prince Fredrick, MD, she was the daughter of June L. (Donaldson) McClosky and husband, Charlie of Swanton, and Gerald R. Gibson and wife, Shari of Conway, SC. Samantha was a graduate of Southern High School and attended Garrett College. She was an animal lover and outdoors enthusiast. Samantha shared her passion for animals through her work as a receptionist at Pineview Veterinary Hospital where she greeted her patrons with a friendly attitude and a beautiful smile. She enjoyed photographing landscapes and painting abstract art. She had a new found love for rock climbing. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her siblings, Nicole and Joe; maternal grandparents, Paul and Barbara Donaldson of Dunkirk, MD; paternal grandmother, Darlene Woods of St. Leonard, MD; uncles and aunts, Darrell Donaldson, Scott and Jennifer Donaldson, Teresa Donaldson, and Shawn and Judy McClosky; fiancAC., Bryson M. Dixon; numerous cousins and friends; and her dog, Sparky. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 North Second Street, Oakland on Wednesday, December 12th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM. A funeral service will be held at Otterbein United Methodist Church on Thursday, December 13th at 11 AM with the Rev. Angie Cosner officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rotary Christmas Project Fund P.O. Box 741 Oakland, MD 21550 or to the Otterbein United Methodist Church c/o Joan Riley 876 Thousand Acres Road Swanton, MD 21561.
