Ruby Helen Helmick, 95, of Keyser, WV passed away October 20, 2015 at Garrett Memorial Hospital. She was born September 23, 1920 in Parsons, WV a daughter of the late Roy and Lydia Fike Fitchner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Helmick in 1970, also preceding her in death, one son, Gary H. Helmick. She is survived by two sons, Virgil D. (Wilma) Helmick, Eglon, WV and Gilbert A. Helmick, Dale City, VA, three daughters, Gloria A. (Dwight) Hull, Ocala FL, Connie L. (Douglas) Hicks, Goodview, VA, and Karen S. (Larry) Feaster, Keyser, WV, one sister, Jean Witt, Alexandria, VA, 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Helmick enjoyed puzzles, quilting, crocheting, and knitting. She watched stock car races, and enjoyed riding motorcycles and ATV’s. She was a Dale Earnhardt fan.
Friends will be received, Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 4-8 PM at Hinkle Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Hinkle Funeral Chapel with Rev. Shelba Sisler officiating. Interment will follow in the Eglon Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. www.hinklefuneralhome.com
