Ruby Arbutus Dunithan, 93, of Elk Garden, WV, passed away Monday, November 7, 2011 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center, Glen Burnie, MD.
Born August 9, 1918 in Elk Garden, WV, she was the daughter of the late Milton & Anna (Stonebraker) Dunithan. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence Dunithan and Melvin Dunithan; a sister, M. Virginia Dawson; a grandson, David Shillingburg; and a great grandson, Marc Paugh.
Ruby was a homemaker and was known by all as an excellent seamstress. Ruby enjoyed playing bingo and loved her family fishing and camping trips on the river.
She is survived by four daughters, LeeAnna Truett and husband Tim of Baltimore, Mavidell Shillingburg of Elk Garden, Edna Lombardi of Baltimore, and Judy Conklin and husband Dennis of Glen Burnie; two sisters, Mae Benson of Bayard and Rose Lea Dunithan of Elk Garden; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Nethken Hill United Methodist Church in Elk Garden, WV from 12 - 2 PM at which time a funeral service will be held with the Rev. Bryon Mayberry officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231 or the Nethken Hill United Methodist Church, Nethken Hill Rd., Elk Garden, WV 26717.
