Roy Lee Lewis, 93, of Oakland died Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Oakland Nursing and Rehab. Born on December 15, 1918 in Leadmine, WV, he was the son of the late James and Edna (Blamble) Lewis. He retired from the construction industry and enjoyed farming. Roy was a sergeant in U.S. Army Air Corps having served during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Vilda B. (Lantz) Lewis; two grandsons, Ryan A. White of Oakland; Eric T. White and wife Lisa of Lomita, CA; two great grandsons Jackson and Parker White; a sister, Alma V. Brake of Petersburg, WV; four brothers, Rollin R. Lewis of Columbia, PA; Rufus J. Lewis of Horseshoe Run, WV; Albert H. Lewis of Kingwood, WV; and Elbert L. Lewis of Aurora, WV and a numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy White in 2005; two sisters, Mable Moran; Freda Eye; and four brothers, Webster, Edison, Alva, and Cecil Lewis. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St, Oakland, Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Matthews officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens with military honors. Memorials may be made to Southern Garrett County Rescue Squad, P.O.
