Roy Olen Hinkle, Sr., 92, of Mt. Lake Park died on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital. Born on February 5, 1923 in Davis, WV, he was the son of the late Orie Olen and Ella Berlinda (Judy) Hinkle. He attended the Apostolics of Oakland church and was a founding member and long-time volunteer for the Southern Garrett County Rescue Squad. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Norma Rea (Liller) Hinkle; a daughter, Patricia Ann Hickey of McCoole; two sons, Roy "Olen" Hinkle, Jr. and wife Debby and James Allen Hinkle and wife Patricia, both of Oakland; grandchildren, Robert, Michael, David and Roy Hickey, Kathryn Slagel, Lisa Hastmann, Nathaniel Hinkle and Heather Hairston; great grandchildren, Brandon, Robert, Kaitlin, Brittany, Travis, Troy, Ryan, Cody, Austin, Gabrielle, Kaitlin, Christa, Michael, Andre, Alexander, Andrew, Wyatt, Dillion, Savanna, Zoey, Caleb and Jonah; one great great grandson, Owen; and a sister, Geraldine Flowers of San Bernadino, CA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard Lynn Hinkle and a sister, Reba Gilliams. Friends will be received at Calvary Tabernacle Church, 27893 Garrett Hwy., Accident on Friday, April 10th from 3 to 6 PM and on Saturday, April 11th from 11 AM to 12 noon after which time a funeral service will be held with Brother Larry Wallbrown and Pastor Pascal Crites officiating. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery. The C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Oakland is handling the arrangements.
