Roy Cheshire

Roy Norman Cheshire Sr., 66, of Oakland, MD passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021. He was born on August 14, 1954, in Keyser, WV to the late Howard Cheshire Sr. and Velma Rotruck.

Roy attended Keyser High School and, in his earlier years, worked as a forklift operator at Kessel Lumber Company.  In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and walking.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years,  Georgia "Jean" (Valentine) Cheshire, to whom he was married on June 20, 1975; one daughter, Becky Miller and husband Robert of Albright WV; a son, Roy N. Cheshire Jr. of Oakland, MD; grandchildren, Angel Cheshire and companion Billy Lloyd, Roy Tyson Cheshire, both of Oakland, MD, and Conner Miller of Albright, WV; two great grandchildren, Briella and Dekker Lloyd; seven sisters, Ruby Leatherman and husband Gerland, Ruth Leatherman and husband Landon, Linda Mcavoy and husband Roger, all of New Creek, WV, Virginia Cheshire and husband Howard Jr. of Burlington, WV, Darlene Newhouse of Keyser, WV, MaryLou Rotruck and husband Walter of Martinsburg, WV, and Margie Rotruck and husband Lyle of Ranson, WV; and one brother, Bill Cheshire and companion Penny Thorn of Oregon; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Angie Chapman.

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by two brothers, Jerry Cheshire and Harry Cheshire; one sister, Sandra Wilfong; an infant sister, Pinkie Cheshire; and an infant brother, Baby Boy Cheshire.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, September 25, at Mt. Lake Independent Baptist Church.
