Ronnie "Mike" Welch

Ronnie "Mike" Welch, Sr., 71, of Oakland, passed away on April 25, 2024, at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on February 12, 1953, in Oakland, he was the son of the late Ronald L. and Alma M. (Oates) Welch.

Mike was a graduate of Southern Garrett High School and made a career out of his favorite hobby, truck driving, working for Oester Trucking, A.K.A. Coppertop. He adored spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and loved watching old westerns with his wife.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda F. (Friend) Welch; two sons, Todd A. Friend and wife Vickie, and Mikey Welch and wife Amy, both of Oakland; grandchildren, Kirsten Nesselrodt and husband Justin, Natasha Friend and husband Jesse, Brittany Welch and husband Brandon, and Justin Friend; great grandchildren, Elena Friend, Ella Collins, Asher Nesselrodt, and River Ludwig; siblings, Diane Clary of Fort Ashby, WV, Carole Morris and husband Gene of Springfield, WV, Kathy Kisner and husband Carris of Autryville, NC, Nancy Cooper of Fort Ashby, WV, and Tammy Petruzzi and husband Frank of Ravenswood, WV.

Mike's wishes to be cremated are being honored and there are no services scheduled at this time.
