Ronald Whitehair Sr

Ronald Keith Whitehair Sr., 76, of Davis, WV passed away July 22, 2011 at his home.

He was born May 21, 1935 at Davis, WV, a son of the late Ferman Whitehair Sr. and Leota Knapp Whitehair.  He was preceded in death by 1 sister Ina Litton. On June 17, 1959, he married Alma Jo Sowers, who survives. Also surviving are 3 sons, Ronald (Lila) Whitehair Jr., Davis, WV, Bill (Judi) Whitehair, Elkins WV, Edward (Donna) Whitehair, Hedgesville, WV, 1 daughter Brenda (Ron) Cunningham, Davis, WV, 2 brothers Kenneth (Connie) Whitehair, Ferman (Betsy) Whitehair, Jr. both of Davis, WV, 1 sister Sarah (George) Felton, TN, 10 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Mr. Whitehair retired from the state of WV in 2001 after 35 years of service.  He retired as the superintendent of Cedar Creek State Park.  He served his country in the Army from 1953 to 1957.  He was a member of Thomas Fairfax Masonic Lodge #174, Davis Walter Chapter #43 O.E.S., Montrose Knights Templar Commandery #21, Clarksburg Scottish Right of Free Masonry, 32nd degree, Independent Order of Odd Fellows #103, Wheeling Chapter of Shriners International, Royal Arch Masons, Elkins Chapter #35, Tygart Valley Shriners Club, Lifetime member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, and a member of The Davis United Methodist Church.  Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home, Sunday July 24, 2011 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm and Monday July 25, 2011 11:00 am to 1:00 pm the funeral hour. Rev Jim Martin will be officiating, and Interment will follow in the Davis Cemetery.  Hinkle Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at hinklefuneralhome.com
