Ronald Ervin Tasker, 63, of Walnut Bottom, Swanton died on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at his home. Born on November 29, 1949 in Mt. Lake Park, he was the son of the late Foster E. and Virginia M. (Hanna) Tasker. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War. He worked for many years as a coal miner and, later, as a timber-cutter. Ron enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and, most of all, spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Patsy J. (Kent) Tasker, with whom he had spent more than 41 years; two sons, Todd Allen Tasker and Danny Ervin Kent, both of Walnut Bottom; and a sister, Lorraine Sims of Kitzmiller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Tasker. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church St., Kitzmiller on Sunday, July 7th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Mt. Zion Methodist Church, Mt. Zion Road, Swanton on Monday, July 8th at 10 AM with Rev. George H. Tichinel officiating. Interment, with full military honors, will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
