Ronald Othie Myers, 84, of Oakland, MD, passed away May 9, 2022, at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on January 14, 1938 in Benbush, WV, the son of the late Othie S. and Mildred V. (Ford) Myers.
Ronald proudly served our Country in the United States Army. He worked as a foreman for Olympic Steel for over 42 years. Being a jack of all trades, Ronald loved working on his vehicles and was proud of the additions he built on to his home. He always took great care of his yard, from planting flowers, mulching and mowing. He enjoyed hunting and woodworking; building countless birdhouses over the years. Ronald's most honorable accomplishments would be raising four different generations of kids.
He is survived by two daughters, Traci Myers-Gouran and husband Mohamad and LuAnn Davis; a son, Keith Myers; two special granddaughters whom he helped raise, Brandi Gouran and Ashlee Myers; a sister, Wanda Jordan; thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Marie (Norsworthy) Myers, whom he married in June 1967. Also preceding him in death were two sons, Alan Frye and John Frye; a brother, Kenneth Myers.
Friends will be received Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 4 to 8 pm at C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A. 21 N. Second St. Oakland. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, May 13, 2022, at the funeral home. Military honors will be accorded at Rose Hill Cemetery, Thomas, WV, where interment will follow. The C & S Fredlock Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Myers family at this time.
