Romayne Fries

Romayne Faith Fries, 62, of Oakland passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at the home of her sister, Ronaye Paugh. Born on August 25, 1952 in Oakland, she was the daughter of Mary Alice (Sweitzer) Fries of Oakland and the late Arlington Boyd Fries. She was a graduate of Southern High School and Garrett College, had been a registrar for Valley Health System in Winchester, VA and had completed medical coding certification. Romayne was a caregiver who enjoyed playing piano, studying astrology and spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a devoted and beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, a tireless helper to those in trouble, and an excellent worker. In addition to her mother, she is survived by three sisters, Rosemary Ringer of Burlington, VT, Romona Stevenson and husband Zane of Mt. Storm, WV and Ronaye Paugh and husband Jeff of Oakland; a brother, R. Linden Fries of Baltimore; nephews, Scott Ringer, Matt Paugh, Cody Stevenson and Zakk Paugh; and a great nephew, Jaxon Harvey. A graveside memorial service and a celebration of life reception are being planned to honor her wonderful, joyous spirit and her unending, selfless love for others. Romayne's family would like to extend a special Thank You to Dr. Faye Yin and the nurses at the Schwab Cancer Center, the home health nurses, especially Bev Marple and Hospice of Garrett County. The C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Oakland is assisting the family with arrangements.
