Roger Lee Martin, Sr., 67, of Oakland, MD died Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Born May 19, 1944 in Oakland, he was the son of the late Foster R. and Elva (Mills) Martin. He was also preceded in death by one son, Ed Martin, in 2005. Roger was a truck driver for Duff Trucking Lines in OH before retiring to Pleasant Valley. He is survived by two children, Roger Lee Martin, Jr. and Rhonda Renea Roberts and their spouses; six grandchildren; one brother; three sisters; and his long-time companion, Joan Bowers and her children, Candi and Cristi Parker as well as many close friends and neighbors. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland, MD on Friday, April 6, 2012 from 12 to 1 PM at which time a memorial service will be held with the Rev. Donald Matthews officiating. Interment of cremains will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to Southern Rescue Squad, 200 Baltimore Ave., Oakland, MD 21550.
