Rodger Evans

Rodger Lee Evans, 78, of Kitzmiller, MD, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021, at home surrounded by his family.
Born on January 11, 1943, in Keyser, WV, he was the son of the late Otha W. and Eulalia (Barnard) Evans.
He worked in the coal mines, for Sterling Processing, and for the Garrett County Roads Department, from which he retired after 14 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time on the river, going to mud races, woodworking, and his early morning coffee trips to the Coal Bucket.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Donna (Harvey) Evans; three sons, Bill Evans and Julie Athey, John Evans, and Richard Evans and wife Peggy; seven grandchildren, Jessica Warnick and Rob Elliott, David Warnick and Destiny Jackson, Miranda Evans and Rob Nice, MiKayla Beeman and husband Mickey, Autumn Evans and Bud Paugh, Justin Evans and Christina Evans; three very special great grandkids, Terron Gank, MaKenna Evans and Levi Beeman; a son in law, Mickey Warnick; a daughter in law, Tammy Evans; a brother, Joe Evans and wife Dorris; two very special buddies, Robbie Reckart and Mike Brady, a special cousin, Peepers and Randy Harold.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kandy Warnick; a son, Rodger Wayne "Tadpole" Evans; one great granddaughter, Heaven'ly Layne; and a brother, Wallace Evans.
Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church St., Kitzmiller, on Sunday, February 21, 2021, from 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, February 22, 2021, at 11 AM with Rev. Dr. Matthew Paugh officiating. Face masks and social distancing are requried and if you or a family member are feeling ill, we ask that you stay home and visit with the family at a later time.
Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Swanton.
