Robert White

Robert Earl White, 97, of Thomas, WV passed away at his home February 24, 2012.
He was born February 16, 1915 in Long Hollow (St. George), WV the son of the late Morris Laken White and Leafia Wotring White. He married his wife of 68 years, Mary Gladys Luzier White, on August 10, 1935. She preceded him in death in 2003. He is survived by life long friends, Boone and Carol Pase and their children Tammy and Danny Pase, numerous nieces and nephews, brothers Jerry and Morris White of St. George and foster brother, Delford J. Coole, Oakland, MD and sisters Betty White, St. George, WV, Effie "Dot" Dumire, Aurora, WV and Madeline Messiora, Morgantown, WV. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by brothers Dale, Blaine, Taylor, Ralph and Kenneth White and sisters Elizabeth Close and Gwendolyn Hebb. Mr. White worked in the woods and coal mines before entering the US Army. After his discharge from the Army, he (and brother-in-law Bill Hauser) worked at Whitey's Garage in Aurora and then as a mechanic and welding instructor at the Davis Center. After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking in his shop. He attended Thomas United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home, Sunday, February 26, 2012 from 4-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at Hinkle Funeral Chapel, Monday, February 27, 2:00 pm with Rev.
