Robert Sines

March 23, 1944 — April 28, 2016

Robert "Paul" Sines, 72, of Oakland went to be with his Lord on Thursday, April 28, 2016, surrounded by his family. Born on March 23, 1944 in Oakland, he was the son of the late Carl Robert and Eula Maxine (Phillippi) Sines. He was an inspector for the Maryland State Highway Administration for numerous years prior to his retirement in 1996. He was a member of the Mt. Lake Independent Baptist Church. Paul was a lifetime member of both the NRA and the North American Hunting Club. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and camping but his greatest love was spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Charlotte Frances (Hauser) Sines; two daughters, Michelle Lynne Michaels and husband Todd Christian Michaels and Paula Christina Browning and husband Patrick Henry Browning, both of Oakland; grandchildren, Tara Gregory, Michael Gregory, Tori Gregory, Kameron Michaels and wife Anna, Kane Browning and wife Morghan, Taylor Lake and husband Steven, Robbie Browning, Molly Browning, Emily Michaels, Annabelle Browning and Lucy Browning; great grandchildren, Brayden Gregory, Kyndall Gregory, Greyson Adams, James Michaels and Juni Browning; a brother, Clifford Allen "Bud" Sines and wife Jo of Baltimore; two sisters, Carolyn Sue Davis and husband Edd and Judy Elaine Lambert and husband Bill, both of Oakland; a number of nieces and nephews; and a best friend/cousin who was as close as a brother, Bill Sines of McHenry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Kaye Gregory and a sister, Betty Lou Nutter. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Friday, April 29th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Mt. Lake Independent Baptist Church, 1005 Broadford Rd., Oakland on Saturday, April 30th at 11 AM with Pastor Dennis Leatherman officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation, 8330 Ward Pkwy., Suite 510, Kansas City, MO 64114.
